Our work is not just about building housing; it’s about building communities where people have opportunities to thrive.
—Christa Hines, Executive Director
Our Mission:
Hudson River Housing improves lives and communities through housing with compassion and development with vision.
How We Make an Impact:
We are dedicated to building strong, sustainable communities by developing and preserving quality affordable housing and helping families and individuals obtain and maintain housing through education, advocacy, and supportive services. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live in safe, affordable housing that meets their needs, regardless of income, family makeup, race or ethnicity, physical or mental health issues, or any other defining factors. We work to create long-term opportunities for individuals and families throughout Dutchess County and the greater Hudson Valley.
Giving Opportunities:
Both monetary gifts and in-kind donations of goods are welcome and help us sustain our critical services. Consider supporting some of our most urgent needs, including: the VetZero Heroes Veteran Support Fund, the Wind Chill Fund for Homeless Services, or the Poughkeepsie Open Kitchen Entrepreneurs Fund. www.hudsonriverhousing.org/how-you-can-help
Volunteer Opportunities:
We offer activities to accommodate individuals, groups, and people of all ages and abilities throughout the year. Our most popular activity is Adopt-A-Night, where individuals or groups prepare an evening meal for guests staying at our emergency overnight shelter.
