“My time at WSW in the papermaking studio was truly transformative. As an artist and a mother, I remain in deep gratitude.”
—RISHA ROX, Resident Artist
OUR MISSION
Women’s Studio Workshop envisions a society where women’s visual art is integral to the cultural mainstream and permanently recorded in history.
HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
Our mission is to operate and maintain an artists’ workspace that encourages the voice and vision of individual women and trans, intersex, nonbinary, and genderfluid artists. Through the artist-in-residence program, we have hosted over 860 artists from 45 states and 28 nations. Artists can take workshops, rent WSW’s state-of-the-art studios, and/or schedule private instruction with world-class working artists. We also provide internships for emerging artists, a summer workshop series taught by field leaders, and an art education program for local public school students.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
We solicit donations during Giving Tuesday and at the end of each year. We are also supported by the sale of handmade ceramics at our annual Chili Bowl Fest in Rosendale! For those looking to make a deeper impact, we offer the opportunity for donors to fund a named artist residency opportunity, and are currently fundraising to expand our campus.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are always looking for volunteers to help out at our fundraising events, as well as volunteers to make and decorate ceramics for our Chili Bowl Fest Fundraiser! If you are interested in volunteering, please email our volunteer coordinator at ruth@wsworkshop.org.
